Ray Didinger

Ray Didingeris a senior producer with NFL Films in Mt. Laurel, NJ. He covered pro football for the Philadelphia Bulletin and Philadelphia Daily News for 26 years before joining NFL Films in 1996. Ray has won four Emmy Awards for his work as a writer and producer on the weekly series “NFL Films Presents” and the Turner Network documentary “Football America”. He wrote and co-produced the one hour special “Winning is Living and Losing is Dying: The George Allen Story,” which aired on ESPN earning him the top documentary of 2001 by Sports Illustrated. Ray also wrote and co-produced “Dick Vermeil: A Coach for All Seasons”, which aired on ESPN and won the Best Biography of 2000 at the Aurora International Film Festival. In 1995 Ray’s name was added to the Writers Honor Roll in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.

A 1968 graduate of Temple University, Ray took over the pro football beat at the Bulletin in 1970 at the age of 23. In 1980, he joined the Daily News and covered the NFL until taking his current position with NFL Films. He has been named Pennsylvania Sportswriter of the Year five times and has won six Keystone Press Association Awards for feature writing and also received the Pro Football Writers of America Award for the outstanding feature story in 1991. Most recently Ray has authored and co-authored eight books on pro-football, including “The Eagles Encyclopedia” and “One Last Read”.

Ray has been inducted into the Delaware County Athletics Hall of Fame, Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame and Ridley Township Sports of Fame and in 2006 he became the first writer enshrined in the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame. In 2002, he was one of 50 people chosen for the Delaware County Sports Legends exhibit at the Museum for the History of Delaware County. Ray has written for numerous nationals magazines and hosts a weekly radio show with Glen Macnow on WIP-AM in Philadelphia. In 2005, he was selected “Best Sports Radio Personality” in Philadelphia Magazine’s “Best of Philly” issue. He serves as a pro football analyst on the Comcast Sports Network and he has been a regular on “Post Game Live” for eight seasons.
